Typing Practice

- Sign up for a free account. You can use Typing.com to practice at home with the same account, which will save your progress. Remember to make your username and password something easy for you to remember.
- In the blue bar at the top of the page, you'll see "Lessons" and "Games." You can choose either one to get in some good practice.
Mousing Practice

Practice using the Internet
- Go to Learnmyway.com.
- Sign up for a free account. You can use Learnmyway.com to practice at home with the same account, saving the different lessons that you work on. Remember to make your username and password something easy for you to remember.
- At the top of the page you'll see three gray tabs: "My Learning," "Subjects," and "Get Others Online." Go to "Subjects."
- Find a subject that's useful to you and click the "Start This Subject" button. I recommend: Online Basics, More Internet Skills, and Online Safety
- Go to Techboomers.com
- Find a tutorial that you are interested in taking. Want to learn how to use YouTube, shop on Amazon, or how to use Gmail? There are tutorials on all of these subjects. Read through one of the tutorials, and then practice in class, asking for help if/when you need it.
- Go to Google's Power Searching Tutorial
- Start working through the tutorials, watching the videos and then practicing what you learn. Be sure to do the activities after the video to cement your new skills.
Practice with Word Processing Software
- Go to this Example Document. See if you can make a document that looks similar to this in Word. It is okay if you use different fonts, pictures, and colors.
